I have natural maple colored cabinets and an emerald pearl granite countertop. (dark green almost black with quartz flakes througout the granite). I'm having a hard time deciding on the right color of tile flooring to put into my kitchen. I would like to have a warm and inviting look and feel that will enhance both the granite countertop and cabinets. I would probably look at a coordinating backsplash as well. I get alot of natural light in the kitchen. Thanks!

We purchased laminate flooring last winter, and I was told not to use water to clean the floor. The business I purchased it from said to use Windex Multi Purpose cleaner with vinegar, but I haven't had a lot of success with this. There are still spots that just don't seem to get clean. I really want it to continue to look new and spotless. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just removed an old lenoleum flooring, ( 50 years), and a Parkay floor. Do they make a floor sander or are there any chemicals that can be used?

I see radiant flooring used with slab foundations, but what if I have a full foundation, I know the radiant flooring is set and covered with cement.

My concern is the cement being too much weight for the main floor.
I don't want to fill my basement with too many floor supports.

We have inherited an extension which steps down, by about 3-4 inches, from the existing living room, so is in effect a step. We want to replace the carpet with hard wood flooring, probably laminate. Is this easy to do, given the step, or would it be an opportunity to level the floor with concrete and eradicate the step?

House is 68 years old and the front bedrooms are freezing in the winter; the flooring is wide planks that can be pulled up but I want to put them back down-I need the storage space up there. The existing insulation is matted down. I've heard cellulose is the best thing to blow into this space. Would it make sense to take up the flooring, remove the old insulation, replace it with new, then put the floor back down? I believe the compacted cellulose will provide the best R value.

I have yellow urine pet stains in my light colored vinyl flooring. I've washed the floor with lysol, but do not know what to use to get the stains out without harming the flooring.
